Antiquariaat Lorelei
Wonderful, little second-hand women’s bookstore. Old, rare, out-of-print or plain old second-hand, if it’s about or by women, it can be found here.

The American Bookstore
Popular English-language bookstore that stocks a good selection of LGBT works in the basement of this three-floor shop.

Vrolijk
Certainly Amsterdam’s biggest, and even believed to be Europe’s largest LGBT bookstore. Jam-packed over two floors, they’ve got an impressive amount of lesbian books, with many of them in English. Of course you’ll also find the other general stuff you see in other homo establishments: DVDs, calendars, cards, gifts etc. They’ve also got flyers for upcoming parties and events. Helpful English speaking staff.

Xantippe Unlimited
Bookstore with a big focus on everything women-related. Years and years back this used to be an exclusively women’s bookstore, but in the late 1990s the store changed hands and mandates, just a little bit. You’ll still find a wonderful women’s studies section and a huge variety of women and lesbian magazines etc., but the shop also offers a lot of general interest reads as well. Many of their works are available in English.
