Sports Associations
Dutch Gay and Lesbian Athletics
Despite the name, this is actually the Amsterdam edition of the international Frontrunners. Every Wednesday at 7p.m. they run on the AV'23 track in Watergraafsmeer, and every Friday they run at the Olympic stadium track at 7p.m. Visitors are welcome to join them.
Gay Swim Amsterdam
Amsterdam’s queer swim/water polo club. This is a Master’s level organization and visitors are welcome to train with them during the free swim periods, but make sure to arrive at least fifteen minutes early. There is a good number of lesbian members.
Netzo Amsterdam
Seeing as this is a competitive gay and lesbian volleyball club, it’s not really for tourists to drop by and play a game. However, if you’ll be in Amsterdam for an extended period of time and think you might like to join up, you’re allowed three free visits before deciding if you want to become a member. There are four women’s teams in the league.
Rainbow Squash
Amsterdam's gay and lesbian squash club, holding matches every Friday night. Generally they as you to pay an annual fee to participate, but drop them a line to see if they'd let you join them for a one-off while you're in town.
Smashing Pink
Europe’s first gay and lesbian tennis club. Playing both indoors and outdoors, depending upon the season, guests are welcome.
Tijgertje
Amsterdam’s umbrella LGBT sporting organization. Tijgertje organizes about ten different sports groups, including a very popular women’s basketball team, the Tigers.
