Fenway Women’s Dinner Party
Mar 14, 2009
Known as “the” annual lesbian social/fundraising event of the year in all of New England. More than 1000 well-dressed lesbians and their friends pay the big bucks to support women’s care services at Fenway Community Health, which includes specific services for lesbian health care.
Boston Gay and Lesbian Film and Video Festival
Mid-May, 2009 (TBA)
2009 will be the 25th annual edition of this popular queer film fest, so expect some great events. Many screenings are especially for us girls.
Latino Pride
Mid-May, 2009 (TBA)
Not only does Boston have a regular Pride, Black Pride and Youth Pride, but the city also has Latino pride for all LGBT Latinos/Latinas and their friends. Organized by Somos Latin@s, the local LGBT social/cultural group, this celebration usually takes place over an entire week.
Massachusetts Youth Pride
Mid-May, 2009 (TBA)
Pride especially for LGBT youth and their friends. Not only do they have a parade, but they end the day with a queer prom (how I wish I had one of those when I was younger!)
Boston Pride
Jun 5 - Jun 14, 2009
Boston Pride also includes the annual Black Pride celebrations. Between the two Prides there are a ton of events just for women including a couple of block parties and the Sistah Summit, honoring members of the black lesbian community.
Boston Dyke March
Mid-Jun, 2009 (TBA)
This annual Dyke March takes place on the Friday night before the traditional pride parade, with thousands of lesbians on hand for the fun, and the party afterwards.
Queer Women of Color Pride
Early Aug, 2009 (TBA)
The very successful Queer Women of Color (and friends) association went the extra step in 2008 and organized a full week of QWOC Pride events with everything from social nights to health events and panel discussions. Let's hope it's back for 2009!
The Femme Show
Early Oct, 2009 (TBA)
This will be the third edition of this annual two-night event. "With film, dance, literary readings, burlesque, drag, and performance art from award winning artists, the Femme Show offers a variety of diverse perspectives on femme identity with subject matter that is at times thoughtful, sad, sexy, funny, and fun."
