Beulah Bar
The new hotspot for all the ladies in town, Beulah is Gayle – in local queer speak - for “beautiful.” This lesbian-owned “bohemian-chic” bar/lounge is a breath of fresh air for the local dyke community. Boys and girls drop by most nights, but it's especially popular with the ladies. Lotsa eye candy and good tunes.

Candy Girls (1st and 3rd Fridays of the month at Friendly Society)
It's great that there's a regular girl party happening in Cape Town now, and it looks like it's a happening night. Hosted by DJs Nicky and Melanie, this is a girl-only event.

Fever (every Thursday at the Friendly Society)
This retro party is for all queer boys and girls with mixes from the 80's and 90's that will bring on a serious case of dance-itis. From Blondie to Wham, you'll hear it there. The party kicks off at 9 p.m., just in time to re-live the memories of big hair, skinny jeans and crazy dancing. This is the same spot where the women's Candy Girl party (see above) takes place.

Loft Lounge
A total upscale, hip gay lounge in the heart of de Waterkant, just above Anatoli restaurant (see our "Restaurants" listings). Even though this spot is especially for the boys, it's totally worth dropping by just to check the place out. With a fantastic view of the Table Mountain from the outside balcony and a two storey window offering a perfect cityscape, Loft is a great spot for a light snack or cocktail.

Lush
Lush used to be a regular women's night before the Beulah Bar (above) opened. The party is run by Myrna who is the owner of Beulah, an establishment attracts a fair number of women most nights. But every now and then Myrna will host this ladies-only night at another venue. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to know where or when these nights will happen. The best way to find out is by checking the Mambagirl website (see information and resources) or by calling Myrna directly.

Zula Sound Bar
Mainly straight live music venue and lounge/restaurant that’s attracting a lot of local lesbians nowadays. They serve food pretty much all day and night and have a lovely patio to boot. Add in their loungey couches and the labyrinth-like layout and Zula has become a local fave for all.
