Hard Rock Hotel Chicago
While I may not be a huge fan of the Hard Rock restaurants, their hotels are a totally different story. This Chicago property is absolutely stunning with huge, sleekly designed rooms, great views and excellent customer service. But what I like best about the hotel is that if you choose to upgrade your room, they will give a $15 donation to one of three charities, including the LGBT Centre on Halsted.

Urban Art Retreat (UAR) & Sisters' Place
Part women’s hostel, part studio and gallery space, the UAR is a non-profit organization providing low-priced guestrooms for women travelers on its second floor and an art gallery, art boutique, and art studio for non-artists on the main level.
