Restaurants & Cafes
Bronx
A super-popular spot for weekend brunch. It’s simple, straightforward meals, but you know it’s usually going to be good.

Buli Café
Great breakfasts, coffees, sandwiches and paninis, but what I love most about this gay-owned resto is the retro metal lunch boxes their meals are served in. And of course they have some fun stereotypical kitschy ones for the queers. The gay boys I was with were able to pick up Hello Kitty and High School Musical lunch boxes, while I came home with a very cool John Deere one!

Café Brazil
There are several outlets of this popular restaurant, but this is the localation that is favored by the local gay and lesbian community. Keeping a real mom’n’pop feel to the space, the 24 hour opening hours are another real bonus. After-hour munchies can be taken care of with their full menu at any time.

Cosmic Café
More than just a popular veggie restaurant, Cosmic Café also hosts yoga classes most days of the week. Located in Oak Lawn, you know the ladies are visiting.

Hattie’s
A bit bistro, a bit down-home cooking, this Bishop Arts District eatery is a popular, high-class comfort food destination. Drop by any night and you’ll see lesbian couples mixed in with artsy foodies and local business people. The catfish and fried green tomatoes are definitely the house specialty.

Hector’s on Henderson
This one’s a fave with local gays and lesbians for so many reasons: good food, charming service, beautiful patio and delightfully romantic.

La Madeleine's
A taste of old country France, La Madeleine’s is part bistro, part café and part bakery. An especially nice spot for simple, yet hearty lunches.

Monica’s Aca y Alla
This restaurant from lesbian/transgender owner and chef Monica Greene is a long-standing favorite not only with the Dallas LGBT community, but with all foodies who appreciate Mexican cuisine. Beyond food, you might even luck in to some live music or salsa lessons.

Pooch Patio
A lesbian-owned café/bar for dog lovers where you can actually bring your pooch! Walk through the double-gated front porch entranceway, then grab a coffee or martini at the bar while your dog has some playtime. Pooch Patio also doubles as a doggie daycare, self-serve doggie grooming salon and internet café. A seriously fun spot if you’re a fan of the canines and you can even go dog-free, so long as you don’t mind puppies rubbing up against you.

Spiral Diner and Bakery
Want to enjoy some delicious southern cooking without all of the meat and dairy? Spiral is there for you! Offering great vegetarian and vegan plates, Spiral favorites include their jerk tempeh sandwich, Texas-Philly cheezsteak and Mitch tofu club. Brunch is also served all-day on Sunday.

Uncle Julio’s Fine Mexican Food
There’s actually four locations of this fab resto, but it’s the one on Lemmon that you want to check out. Great food, excellent service and make sure to try their “swirl", a frozen mixture of Margarita and Sangria swirled together in a mug. Pretty and delicious!
