Located in nearby Dania Beach (it's only about ten minutes from Ft. Lauderdale), Beach Betty's Bar is a popular spot with the slightly more "mature" lesbian crowd. Laid back with a total beach theme, cheap drinks, pool tables, darts and yes, even karaoke.

Right now, this is pretty much the only place where you can get down in the Ft. Lauderdale area on a Saturday night. Not only is there a regular dance floor, but there's also an outdoor patio and private booths that you can book for some intimacy.

Here's the latest offering from the ladies of Pandora Events. Launched in January, 2009 this is a welcome new addition to the Ft. Lauderdale/Wilton Manors lesbian scene.

Karnival
A mega (mostly) lesbian club right off of Ft. Lauderdale beach! Launched in early 2009, Karnival offers three full floors (including a rooftop terrace) with a different style of music on every floor. During the weeknights, it's mainly like a beach bar with most of the action takes place on the ground floor. Friday through Sunday it's a true dance club, but skip it on Saturdays when it's all for the boys. Ft. Lauderdale hasn't seen a lesbian dance club like this in years, so it will be interesting to see how it does.

Naked Grape Wine Bar
One of the more sophisticated, loungey queer spots on town, Naked Grape is a great place for a chat with friends over a nice glass of wine. Usually more men than women, but you'll still fee comfortable.... especially on the 3rd Thursday of the month when the HRC Women's Networking meet'n'greet happens.

New Moon
Definitely the lesbian spot of greater Fort Lauderdale. A fairly large lesbian bar with a patio out back, New Moon has tons of regulars, hosts all kinds of events and sponsors several lesbian sport teams. In the end, it's very much a local lesbian community center.

Sidelines Sports Bar
Even though one of the owners is a lesbian, this sports bar mainly caters to a gay boy clientele. All the same, this is a great spot to catch a game and enjoy a cold beer.
