Houston’s gay country and western dance bar. Don’t know how to two-step? They offer classes every Thursday night. This is mainly a men’s bar, but there are some women regulars as well.

Who ever would have thought it possible that one of the biggest lesbian bars in the world would be found in Houston, Texas? Not me. Chances says it is the biggest on the planet, but I’d have to compare with Candy Bar in London or Le Drugstore in Montreal to see if that's true. No matter what, you’ll find tons of girls here. Chances is actually made up of four separate bars, each catering to a different crowd: the original Chances bar for a drink and some music; Chance’s G-Spot for the dancing; New Barn Saloon for all you country/western fans and the Chi-Chi Martini bar for sophisticated ladies.

The weekends are a lot of fun. However, during the week it's pretty empty - even for events like Latin Night.

Club Eden
Located in Webster, just south of Houston, this is a fairly new lesbian spot affiliated with the boy bar Club Adam. You definitely need a car to get here though, so think designated driver or taxi it for the night.

We went there Jan. 09 for the first time. The music was decent -- a mix of hip hop, pop, latin. We had a good time and would check it out again. Also, we found out that they do a lot of special events like -- lap dance contest and oil wrestling -- FUN FUN FUN!!!

Organizes occasional lesbian events throughout the year, including a big women’s party for Black Pride.
Ladies Night (1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at Blur)
One of the newer gay clubs in Houston, Blur also caters to the ladies twice a month. It used to be a weekly party, but is now only on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. Blur is a big, multi-level space with a lounge, patio, balconies and dance floors.

Generally a gay boy bar, Bartini invite the ladies in for a ride on Saturday nights. This two-level space with its’ wicked staircase houses a dance club downstairs and lounge upstairs

They don't have a regular home yet for their parties, but this new party promoter is a total breath of fresh air to the Houston lesbian scene. Check their MySpace page for upcoming events.
Throb Parties (Fridays at Aztecas VIP Lounge - Upstairs on the 2nd floor)
Presented by DJ Rocky B (that would be Ms. Rocky B), Throb Parties have been a Houston lesbian mainstay since 2004. Even though they moved a few times over the years, this is definitely a girl party you want to check out in H-Town.
