Houston’s one of the few cities in the world to host a nighttime Pride Parade, with more than 150,000 spectators on hand.
Frida Festival

This annual one-day festival highlights and celebrates the life of openly bisexual Frida Kahlo. With art, performances and a Frida Kahlo look-alike contest, this is a popular event with local lesbians.
Q Fest
Mid-Late Sep, 2010 (TBA)
Houston’s annual LGBT film festival. It’s surprisingly short for a city this size, but keep your eyes open for films geared towards the girls.
Houston Women's Festival
Late Oct, 2010 (TBA)
”The Athena Art Project produces the annual Houston Women's Festival in the fall. The festival is a celebration of music, art, culture and community that has been held annually since 1995.” This is one of the most important events in the local lesbian calendar.
