Events
Q Fest
Mid-Late Sep, 2008 (TBA)

”The Athena Art Project produces the annual Houston Women's Festival in the fall. The festival is a celebration of music, art, culture and community that has been held annually since 1995.” This is one of the most important events in the local lesbian calendar.
Houston Black Tie Dinner
Mid-Nov, 2008 (TBA)
This annual charity dinner is the biggest LGBT fundraising event of the year in Houston, bringing in about $150 000. All funds raised are given to local LGBT organizations. While this started off as a very gay-boy event, more and more lesbians have become involved in recent years.
Houston Splash
Early May, 2009 (TBA)
The city’s big Black Pride celebrations are a major event in Houston. A full week of fun with a number of events just for lesbians.
Houston Pride
Late Jun, 2009 (TBA)
Houston’s one of the few cities in the world to host a nighttime Pride Parade, with more than 150,000 spectators on hand. This week-long event came under a lot of scrutiny in 2007, with the community considering moving the parade to the more central downtown core and changing some of the general pride elements. For now it’s been decided that the parade will stay in the Montrose area, but this will likely be revisited again for 2009.
Girl Jam
Early Aug, 2009 (TBA)
2009 is the 5th edition of this outdoor women's music festival. And after a day of outdoor groovin', the party goes indoors to Chances, the local lesbian bar.
