Reel Women Film Festival Los Angeles

Highlights up-and-coming women filmmakers. This festival provides these cineastes a forum to showcase their films in the heart of the entertainment industry.
An Evening With Women/ Women's Night/ L.A.C.E.

Short for “Lesbians and bisexual women Active in Community Empowerment”, L.A.C.E. is considered one of the hottest lesbian events not only in California, but possibly around the world... and it's a fundraiser for the local LGBT community centre. The event celebrates lesbians who've made a difference to their community and this year's line-up is unbelievable with Gina Gershon hosting, Sharon Stone MCing the silent auction, Uh Huh Her performing and other faves like Clementine Ford, Cybil Shepherd and Sarah Silverman also on hand.

I atttended last year and it was an awesome time. What a diverse group of women honoring, celebrating, and partying together. I can wait for this year's event.

WeHo Dyke March

If you can't make the L.A. Dyke March, there’s always the Friday night West Hollywood one! Presented by the Lesbian Visibility Committee of the City of West Hollywood, this annual dyke march always attracts some major talent and cute lesbians! In 2007, MEN (the women of Le Tigre) were in charge of the DJ duties and Me'Shell Ndegeocello performed at the after-party.
Los Angeles Pride

This one’s a biggie, with hundreds of thousands of people on hand for the celebrations.... and since they're celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2010 I think we can expect it is going to be a huge party! What's also great is the usually on the Friday night and Saturday before the big Sunday parade, there are two different dyke marches: the LA dyke march and the WeHo Dyke March.

How incredible that in L.A. you can catch not one, but two dyke marches each year! There’s this one and the WeHo Dyke March. No matter what, it’s lots of ladies and lots of fun.
At the Beach: L.A. Black LGBT Pride

This the oldest and longest-running Black Pride in America, with more than 20,000 showing up for this annual week-long event. Lots of parties, some just for women.
Outfest: Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival
Early Jul, 2010 (TBA)
This LGBT film fest started up in 1982, and since then it has pretty much grown into one of the world’s primo queer film festivals. Nowadays Outfest lasts almost two weeks and shows hundreds of flicks, many of them just for the girls. Add in a few dozen parties, also with a number of them for the bent girls, and you’ve got a recipe for success.
LA/Valley Pride
Mid-Oct, 2010 (TBA)
A one-day Pride event held on the on the back lot of CBS Studio Centre in Studio City. The event starts with a community day wiht 100+ community groups setting up information tables. There's also a couple of stages for performance and an evening dance party.
LA Femme Film Festival

This four-day festival “focuses on women filmmakers' platforming their commercial films for the world wide audience. It is a Festival for those women who want to have an equal opportunity in commercial entertainment desiring to change, enhance, or become leaders in the industry as a Director, Writer, Producer or Director of Photography.”
Centre Court Championships
Late Oct, 2010 (TBA)
This is the big annual tennis championship for the Los Angeles Tennis Association, the largest gay and lesbian tennis association in the world. Each year this event attracts up to 250 players from across North America.
West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval

For more than 20 years, hundreds of thousands of Halloween-lovin' folks have descended upon West Hollywood for this outdoor, dress-up extravaganza that is believed to be the biggest Halloween celebration in the world. While it started off as almost an exclusively queer event, over time it has really become a mixed event, with the gays still taking the lead.
Power Premiere Celebrity Gala

With this being La La Land, of course we’ll find glamorous lesbian events in the city. This annual Power Premiere Celebrity Gala though, is something else. All the lesbians we know and love from t.v./movies/music squeezed together in one space for an extremely popular women in entertainment recognition event. Best of all, even plebes like us are able to buy tickets for it!
