Boxed Lunch: LA Lesbian Scene
This blog has the skinny on all of the fun lesbian stuff happening in LaLa Land. Updated quite regularly, Boxed Lunch is a real gem for women trying to follow the frequently changing LA scene.
GLAAD
“The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.” They hold a number of events throughout the year, including the annual GLAAD media awards.
L.A. Gay and Lesbian Centre (N. McCadden Place)
This community centre is the world’s largest LGBT organization, with more than 260 people on staff and 3000+ volunteers. As you can imagine, they provide the whole gamut of services, from information to support, classes, a theatre, learning centres. the list goes on and on. The Center actually operates out of four distinct locations, but the ones that would probably be most useful to you are the McDonald/Wright Building where they offer tons of social services and the Village at Ed Gould Plaza, where you’ll find most of their cultural events. Of particular interest to lesbians is their annual Women’s Night when they host the L.A.C.E. Award (Lesbians and bisexual women Active in Community Empowerment), considered one of the most glamorous dyke events of the year.

Lesbian Visibility Committee of the City of West Hollywood
LVC is a committee of lesbians who meet twice a month to promote lesbian visibility in West Hollywood, traditionally a very gay boy town. Not only do they offer lesbian health information and community resources, but they also organize the West Hollywood Dyke March every June.
Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce
I think the name pretty much says it all. Looking for a homo business to support? Here’s your listings.
Official West Hollywood Tourism Site
Well, this is West Hollywood, so they don’t even need a special section for the LGBT community. In all of their general listings they just put a little rainbow flag next to the homo haunts.
