Arriba! Ski & Snowboard Club — New Listing!
There may not be any snow in L.A., but that doesn't mean there aren't people who love to ski and snowboard. That's where Arriba! comes in. This gay and lesbian club organizes trips to Mammoth and other out-of-state or country ski resorts as well as off-season get-togethers.
Different Spokes
LGBT cycling club that founded all the way back in 1983! Women only make up about 15% of their membership right now, but they’re on an active campaign to reduce that imbalance. Regular cycling events in L.A. and out of town.
Gay and Lesbian Sierrans
The official LGBT section of the International Sierra Club. The group organises day hikes, car camps, backpacks, mule packs, bike rides, peak bags, beach walks, boat trips, and a host of other outdoor activities as well as conservation education, fund raisers, outdoor skill training, and social activities. Membership is not required (only encouraged) and visitors are welcome.
Great Outdoors
Calling themselves the largest gay and lesbian outdoor recreational organization in Southern California, the Great Outdoors has a number of chapters including one in L.A. Not only do they accept and welcome non-members and visitors to their events, they actively encourage it.
Greater Los Angeles Softball Association
Gay and lesbian softball association with mixed, men’s and women’s leagues. The women alone have 16 teams at four different skill levels in their roster. Looking for a bunch of lesbians? Nothing better than the bleachers at a dyke softball game!
Hiking Hunnies
Want to get fit while hanging with some cute girls? Hiking Hunnies can help. This lesbian hiking club holds sporadic hikes around L.A. Their myspace page isn't always up-to-date, so you may want to email them through their page to see if anything is coming up.
Los Angeles Frontrunners
The L.A. group of this international running/jogging/walking club. This is a very health-conscious town, so as you can imagine, this gang runs pretty often on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. It’s the Saturday 8 a.m. meet-up that’s especially popular with the ladies. Visitors are welcome.
Los Angeles Tennis Association
With over 600 annual members, the LATA says it’s the biggest LGBT tennis club in the world. To be able to play with them though, membership is required.
SAGA Los Angeles — New Listing!
Wow, who would've thought that L.A. would have two gay and lesbian ski clubs??? Well, it's true, there's Arriba! (above) and SAGA. This is the original queer ski club in LaLa Land, forming more than 30 years ago.
West Hollywood Aquatics
LGBT swimming and water polo club. They practice quite regularly and visitors are welcome for a $10 fee.
