Bato Thai
Very busy Thai restaurant in the gay village popular with both bent boys and girls.
1310, rue Ste-Catherine Est
Montreal
The food is good, but don’t expect true traditional style Thai. The overall cleanliness and décor seems to have gone down a tad too. Probably due to being so busy!

Café Santropol
This quirky eatery mainly serves sandwiches, soups, coffees and teas. It may sound like simple fare, yet it’s anything but. Their huge sandwiches are made with the most unlikely concoctions between two slices of homemade bread, like the sweet root sandwich with a mix of grated carrots, raisins, cilantro, nuts and mayo topped with fresh apple slices. They’ve also got a delicious chicken salad if you’re not that exotic. In warmer weather, insist on a table in the gorgeous back garden.

These sandwiches rock!

Try and request/wait for a seat on the back patio if the weather is nice in the summertime.

This place has a comforting granola feel to it. Lots of vegetarian options too.

Ella Grill
Located just off the main strip of the gay village, this lesbian-owned restaurant is one of the more upscale gay and lesbian eateries you'll find in Montreal. The Mediterranian cuisine served in a minimalist black-and-white space draws both the boys and girls, but Ella Grill makes an effort to cater to the lesbian community with summer Sunday t-dances and other one-off events throughout the year.

Annie, the owner really goes out of her way to make you feel good and that you're well fed!

Kilo
Located in the heart of the Village, this is a great spot for coffee, desserts and light meals. People will often hang out here instead of going out on Thursday and Friday nights.

La Paryse
Ahhh, la Paryse. It’s partially because of this charming 50s-style diner that I decided I was going to move to Montreal to attend university so many years back. This lesbian owned and operated burger joint has great food, great staff, great music, great everything. My personal favorite is the Paryse sandwich… Paryse is the name of the owner of the restaurant, and rumour has it she used to make this egg/melted cheese on rye sandwich for ladyfriends who would always suggest she should open a restaurant.

The burgers here are some of best I've had, so are the shakes. Sometimes though there's a line up, but generally it goes quick and the food is so worth it. Not so much a diner, but a cute and cozy place.

La Strega
In the heart of the village, la Strega is a popular pre-club restaurant that caters to both gay men and lesbians. Excellent Italian cuisine at very fair prices. The décor may not be top-of-the-line, but friendly staff and delicious fare make it worth a visit.

Montreal
Le Cagibi
Vegetarian and vegan-friendly café with a legion of lesbian followers. Located in the dyke-friendly Mile End neighbourhood, this beautiful space has held on to some of its original, slightly Victorian look thanks to its furniture, wood shelves, high ceilings and huge windows.

Montreal
Le Commensal
An excellent vegetarian restaurant. While not lesbian owned or operated, it's still a lesbian magnet.

There are other locations, like the one downtown on the corner of St-Catherine's St. and McGill College. But the one on St-Denis has the most comfy at home feel. The food is good, the only downside is that it's buffet style service.

L’Anecdote
Another burger joint popular with the lesbians…. Meaning they’ve even got a veg burger. Simple, hearty food that doesn’t disappoint.

Saloon Cafe
More boys than girls, you’ll still find the hipster ladies here for dinner or pre-party cocktails. Great music, food and happy hour drink specials. The menu is all over the map from General Tao to quesedillas to chicken burgers, but generally speaking you won’t be disappointed. Make sure you get a seat downstairs as you’ll feel left out of the mix if you’re upstairs.
