Here's a great calendar of upcoming lesbian and trans parties and events through NYC with a close look at life in Brooklyn.
Girl Scene NYC
A new website showing off all of the girlie hihinks going down in NYC. They've also got a "coming events" page which is helpful for one-off parties.
Human Rights Campaign of Greater New York
“The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against GLBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.” HRC also hosts a number of social events throughout the year, including a monthly women’s event and their annual gala.
Right Rides
This amazing organization offers “women, transpeople and gender queer individuals a free, late-night ride home to ensure their safe commute to or through high-risk areas.” They offer this service every Saturday night from midnight to 3a.m. in 35 neighbourhoods, from Harlem, to South Bronx, greater Queens, Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan. Right Rides offers this exceptional service for free, but I’d suggest a donation in return, or if you live in NYC you may want to consider volunteering.

SAGE (Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Elders)
SAGE has been assisting the LGBT senior population since 1978 with drop-in services, support groups, health care and more. They also organize a number of social events (with some exclusively for women) to help our LGBT elders live a long and fruitful life. They have four different locations in Manhattan, so check their website to see what is most helpful to you.
The Astraea Lesbian Foundation For Justice
“Works for social, racial and economic justice in the U.S. and internationally. Our grantmaking and philanthropic advocacy programs help lesbians and allied communities challenge oppression and claim their human rights.”
The LGBT Community Centre
The Centre is a true hub for New York’s LGBT community. They take care of the queers in so many ways from their lending library to museum space to social, support and cultural groups. Heck, they’ve even got a lesbian book club. An amazing spot to learn about what’s happening in the local homo community.
