Paris, France
Bars, Nights & Clubs
3-W Café
More like a pub, the 3-W is short for “woman with woman”. Can’t get clearer than that! Nice décor, located in the heart of the Marais.
8, rue des Ecouffes
Paris
Had a mojito here with my girlfriend. Small, cute little bar in a convenient location. Good to stop in for a drink before going on to a club.

A.O.C Café
A little wine bar in the heart of the Marais that isn't necessarily a lesbian bar, but is definitely very popular with the ladies. On weekend nights many drop by here for an early evening drink before heading out for the night or it's just a nice spot for a little after work cocktail on week nights.
60, rue du Roi de Sicile
Paris
Androgyny Party
This used to be one of the biggest parties at the former dyke bar Pulp. When Pulp closed in summer, 2007, Androgyny Party had to find a new home and that's usually at Java. Expect lots of electro, alternative and cool dance music. Dates are still pretty mixed up, so check the (French) website for details
Anoukiss (Thursdays at various locations)
Hosted by Isa and Coco, this "after work" weekly event is for all: boys, girls and anyone in between. The only requirement is a sense of glamor and excitement, and a willingness to discover and enjoy each week's theme. They have about 3 or 4 spots that they regularly return to, but check their (French) website for details on the next event. The party starts at 7 p.m. and goes until the wee hours.
Barbi(e)turix parties (usually at La Flèche D'Or)
Barbi(e)turix is both a hipster dyke magazine (see our "Publications" section) and a party promoter, hosting the hottest dykecore parties in Paris. One regular is called Clitorise and it usually happens on a Friday night at La Flèche D'Or. But they also promote other one-off events, so check their website as it's chock full of girlie info. Their parties are definitely for the under-30 set though. La Flèche D'Or is also just a great space for alternative partying pretty much any night of the week, no matter what your sexual orientation.

Chez Moune
I think this place gets the world-record for world’s oldest dyke bar. Founded in 1936(!!!), Chez Moune is still going strong. As it’s still a bit of a cabaret, there are mini-shows interspersed throughout the evening between the latest dance hits and chanson Française. For the more contemporary lasses, one Friday a month they go a bit more hardcore with alternative burlesque and electro music. No matter what, it’s worth dropping by just to say you’ve been in a lesbian bar that’s survived for so long.
54, rue Jean Baptiste Pigalle
Paris
Collectif Surprise (the Surprise Collective)
This dyke positive collective of artists, performers, DJs, photographers, filmmakers and more hold popular, regular, one-off cabaret dance parties around town, along with regular Monday night "gym electro nic", the coolest lesbo workout/performance you'll ever find. They've usually got a few events every month, so check their website for details.
Flash Cocotte
A newbie on the Parisian queer scene, Flash Cocotte is a lesbian-hosted evening of adventures with performance, music and lots of dancing. It's supposed to be a monthly event, but check their Myspace page for upcoming dates.
Girls Tea Dance (Sundays at Blue Square)
This is usually a boy spot, but on Sundays the ladies take over for this late day t-dance. The party starts as of 6 p.m. and continue into the wee hours.
8, rue Brantôme
Paris
Ice Creme parties
Usually happening about once every two months, Ice Creme is a lesbian-hosted event open to queers of all stripes and colors. It's a rock'n'roll electro party that's sure to get you pumpin'.
Juliette Dragon parties
Known as a total "it girl" in the local women's scene, Juliette is the founder of the Collectif Surprise (see above). A professional fire spinner and burlesque performer, Juliette hosts regular parties and events around town, usually with the collective, but sometimes not. Check her Myspace page for upcoming soirees.
L'Unity Bar
Laid back dyke bar in the heart of the Marais open all evenings with a happy hour from 4-8 p.m. The pool table is probably the centerpiece of the place with monthly pool tournaments. Things get hopping on Friday and Saturday nights when the DJ hits the turntables. Men must be accompanied.
176-178, rue Saint Martin
Paris
La Babydoll (Fridays at le Soir)
Calling itself a "glamorous and scandalous" evening for the girls, this party is definitely for the hip chicks. Great music with different live performances to start out the night.
94, rue Saint Martin
Paris
La Champmeslé
Around for more than a quarter century now, this is the grande dame of Parisian dyke bars. Housed in a 300-year-old building, la Champmeslé is a cozy spot with exposed stone and ceiling beams. Thursday through Saturday, starting at 10 p.m. drop by for the traditional cabaret show. There’s also monthly art exhibits, and of course, who wants to miss the tarot card reader on Tuesdays? Crowds here tend to be slightly older.
4, rue Chabanais
Paris
La Ouch Party
Yes, it's a bit of an odd name, but these gay and lesbian-hosted, all-inclusive, hipster queer parties are bringing in all of the cool Parisian kids. They don't happen too often, and when they do they may include a dinner beforehand or some sort of performance. You usually have to book tickets in advance, so visit their webpages for upcoming events.
Le 3ème Lieu (aka la Cantine des Ginettes Armees)
Now when a place calls itself the “canteen of the armed Ginettes” you can count on my visit. Kooky, hip, hopping and yummy, this place has got it all. Part restaurant, part bar, part dance club, it’s a cool place to hang in the evenings.
62, rue Quincampoix

Le Nyx (on the site of the former Bliss Kfe)
This Paris lesbian club has gone through several name changes in recent years. It started out as Bliss Kfe, then became the Nix, followed by Nyx, then Le Metronyx and woohoo, we're now back to Nyx again. A nice spot in the heart of the Marais to have a drink or do a bit of dancing.
30, rue du Roi de Sicile
Paris
Le Rive Gauche
In the classic neighbourhood of Saint-Germain-des-Pres, Le Rive Gauche is a 70s lesbian bar throwback with lots of mirrors and glitter. This is a popular dancing spot on Friday and Saturday nights (which are, in fact, the only nights the club is open.)
1, rue Sabot
Paris
Les Jacasses
Brought to you by the same women behind the 3-W Café (in fact les Jacasses is directly across the street!), this pub/bar is a newer kid on the block. A cozy spot to drop by for a drink in the evening, the crowd here is a little bit "more mature" than across the street at 3-W.
5, rue des Ecouffes
Paris
Les Souffleurs
Small lesbianish lounge in the heart of the Marais (you'll see some boys there too!). It really is a teeny spot, but nice and chic with a great crowd.
7, rue de la Verrerie
Paris
Mort aux Jeunes (monthly in various venues)
Good name, good party. This used to be a huge party at Le Pulpe, which was one of the biggest lesbian clubs in Paris. When it closed down, Mort aux Jeunes started traveling. While it used to be mostly women, now it's mixed, with hipster boys and girls, and the night is hosted by gay men. All the same, there's always a number of women and this party is all about the music: electro, rock and “clap- clap bling-bling” are all on the playlist. Throw in some performance, booze and dancing, and it's one hot party.
Okubi Caffe
Lesbian-run hipster spot for all sexes, but the gals really seem to appreciate the space, especially on weekends. Created as an alternative to the Marais homohood venues, this is a great spot for a drink or light bite (more in the evening though as it’s pretty dead during the day.) Okubi goes for the electro, kinda cool dykes with excellent DJ sets after 10 p.m. on the weekend.

Playgrrrl Parties
Playgrrrl is behind a number of popular gender-bending, queercore, electronica style parties in Paris including the Androgyny party, Clitorise and others. Her Myspace page has some info in English and you'll see some advertisements for some of the more happening dyke parties in the city.
