Restaurants & Cafes
L'Accent
Popular with both the gay boys and girls, L’Accent is probably best known for Mediterranean treats and pizzas cooked in their wood stove oven.
93, rue de Javel
Paris
L'Amazonial
Another resto serving up meals to both gay boys and girls. What’s also most appreciated here is their outdoor terrace in the summertime. Brunch is also nice on the weekends.
3, rue Sainte-Opportune
Paris
La Fontaine Gourmande
Run by two women, la Fontaine Gourmande offers traditional French cuisine. Open for both lunch and dinner.
11, rue Charlot
Paris
Le Sofa
Owned and operated by two women, this buzzing spot is particularly favored by the lesbian set. Both a restaurant and a bar, Sofa also has great music and parties.
21, rue Saint-Sabin
Paris
Le Temps au Temps
If you’re looking for a gay old time, you’ll find it at Le Temps au Temps. Good food at fair prices, near the Marais.
13, rue Paul Bert
Paris
Les Petits Marseillais
Gay-friendly spot in the Marais (and honestly, what restaurant in the Marais isn’t?) A mix of French and Mediterranean favorites.
72, rue Vieille du Temple
Paris
Mad Vicky's Tea Gallery
A do-not-miss for CocoRosie fans, Mad Vicky's is owned and operated by artiste extraordinaire, Bianca Cassidy (that would be Coco). While it's called a tea shop, the description kinda misses what it's all about. It's almost like calling CocoRosie "just a band" where in reality it's so much more. Mad Vicky's offers art, performance, shopping, sculpture, tea, a mess and slack-jawed questioning as to what it's all about. Open only from 2 - 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, plan your visit well or the doors will be locked shut.
3 rue Nicolet
Paris
Madame Tomate
Very gay-friendly little spot with a fun name (that would be “Ms. Tomato” in English!) Cuisine based on the recipes of Provence, Madame Tomate is especially popular for her desserts, from "Pain perdu" to "Crème brûlée à la violette" or the "3 petits suisses". Fair prices as well if you’re traveling on a tight budget.
78, rue de Bagnolet
Paris
Mi Cayito
Spanish for “my little island”, Mi Cayito is a little touch of Cuba in big city Paris. A warm, tropical environment, yet interestingly contemporary, this is a good spot if you’re ready for a change from the daily steak-frites.
10, rue Marie Stuart
Paris
O2F
Another favorite with the homo set, O2F is located on one of my favorite streets in Paris, Roi de Sicile (translated to the King of Sicily). Don’t know why, but every time I visit Paris I always make the time to meander along this street (well maybe the cute girls have something to do with it….) Enjoy traditional French cuisine at O2F.
4, rue du Roi de Sicile
Paris
Okawa
A bit of a bar, a bit of a restaurant, in lovely Marais. A nice spot to drop by for a quick drink or yummy dinner. Brunch served on weekends.
40, rue Vieille du Temple
Paris
Plurielle
Charming lesbian-run restaurant serving typical French fare from crepes to steak-frites. Great wine selection.
19, rue Jean Moinon
Paris
