Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa
Staying at this property was one of my best hotel experiences ever. The rooms themselves are simply upscale, but the grounds… wow, words barely describe it. The rooms are spread out across a number of buildings that are surrounded by some of the most delightfully lush grounds and green space you will ever see at a hotel property. Heads of state, celebrities and the anonymous wealthy have enjoyed this Frank Lloyd Wright-influenced hotel for decades, and it’s easy to understand why.

Owned by three gay men, the Clarendon takes the crown as the “hip” hotel of Phoenix. Located on the spot where a journalist was car-bombed in the 1970s, throughout the main entranceway you can read blown-up news items and see photos of the crime scene. Even if you don’t stay there, the rooftop hotel bar is a totally scenester spot for a cocktail.

This place is amazing! The guys that run the place are so kind and welcoming and the night my girlfriend and I stayed there we had the entire place to ourselves...including the jacuzzi!
