ASU Karsten Golf Course
Considered one of the best, and least expensive public golf courses in the Phoenix area, Karsten is the home course of Arizona State University’s men’s and women’s golf teams- one of the strongest collegiate teams in the United States. You’ll often see women from ASU on the practice greens and the course.

Desert Mirage Golf Course
This is a public golf course, but what makes it so interesting is that Sue Shapcott is their Director of Golf. Her playing credentials include membership on a winning British Curtis Cup team in 1988. She also held various national championship titles of England, Wales, Britain, France and Belgium… and to boot, she’s a member of the Greater Phoenix Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. Private and group lessons are available.

Desert Valley Squares
“Arizona’s premier gay and lesbian social square dancing club.” The group holds regularly Sunday dances and if you’re a total newbie and don’t know any of the steps, they also organize beginner’s classes where all are welcome.

These gender-bending performers present a number of shows throughout the month, usually at Club Vibe or Appollo's. More than just drag kings, their shows encompass everything from burlesque to all kinds of gender queer performance.

“OUR GOAL: To take over the world!!! PUSSIES UNITE!!! We are like a demented form of Grown Up GRRL Scouts and BOI Scouts that are just wanting to be around other girls who what to get into so trouble and enjoy each others company. Reigning Men Drag Kings
Local drag king troupe that performs fairly regularly around town, especially at Z Girl. Check their Myspace page for upcoming events.
Romantasy Cabaret
“This group of entertainers mixes song, dance, comedy, and magical hijinx, with vaudeville, circus, and of course burlesque, to whet all appetites. This three-act extravaganza boasts a cast and crew of about twenty to thirty creative arty types from the Phoenix area.” Not necessarily lesbian, but definitely queer-friendly!

Very very very queer friendly! Our first few rows of VIP are our fave lesbians who buy tickets the moment they go on sale. Without those first few rows of dun, this show wouldnt be as killer as it is. They add a ton of great energy and debauchery!

Soul Invictus Gallery and Cabaret
Voted the “best place to catch a queer performance” Soul Invictus is “a collaborative community of artists crossing all disciplines, who have come together at this critical time in history to create art, foster community, break down barriers, counter censorship, redefine gender, build bridges and become a catalyst for communication and change.” There’s always an exhibit in the gallery and performances most weekends.
Stray Cat Theatre
“The mission of Stray Cat Theatre is to cultivate the next generation of theatre-goers and theatre artists in the Phoenix area. Decidedly off the beaten path, Stray Cat will aggressively seek out and showcase the most vital contemporary material.” A very queer and women-positive company, Stray Cat even produced a lesbian pulp fiction musical for their 2008 season.
Tres Gay Cabaret
More than anything this is a queer stand-up comedy event that happens on the last Sunday of every month. The comedians change, but one thing that’s constant is a strong lesbian presence.
