Abbey Hotel
Known as the biggest gay hotel in Puerto Vallarta, this hotel in the Zona Romantica welcomes lesbians, but few actually stay there.

Arco Iris
There are only three rooms at this upscale gay and lesbian guesthouse, but that certainly offers some privacy if you’re looking for a romantic getaway. What’s nice about this place is that they actually go after the lesbian clientele, and don’t just stick with the gay men.
Paseo de los Delfines #120
Fracc. Conchas Chinas

Hotel Emperador

Located on the beachfront near the gay section of playa Los Muertos, Hotel Emperador doesn’t go for an exclusively gay clientele, but rather a very mixed clientele, which may make women feel a bit more comfortable.
Amapas #114-115
Colonia Emiliano Zapata
Puerto Vallarta
Tel: (322) 222-5143
Hotel Mercurio
Like the Abbey (above), Hotel Mercurio calls itself a “gay and lesbian” hotel, but less than 5% of their clientele is actually women.

Colonia Emiliano Zapata

San Franciscan Resort and Gym
Located just a block north of the main gay strip Los Olas, the San Franciscan is a hotel that welcomes gays, lesbians (though you don’t see too many of them) and straights. Free wireless and free calls to the U.S. are available.

Playa Los Muertos

I stayed at the San Franciscan and it is very safe, clean, close to everything in Romantica district. I really felt comfortable and secure. Management friendly and helpful.

San Marino Hotel
One (if not the only) hotel in the gaybourhood that often comes as part of an all-inclusive package. The food is mediocre at best, but at least you can hang by the pool with your free drinks right next to the gay beach. Here it’s all about location, location, location. While it’s mainly gay boys, you’ll also find the odd family (no pun intended…) or lesbian couple there as well. A few women I know who’ve stayed at the San Marino are now repeat customers, but I find it too crowded and busy for my taste.

Bucerias is a village about half hour north by local cab or bus and is very lesbian oriented - lots of Canadians too.
