A Different Light bookstore

An institution in San Francisco’s gay community, a Different Light opened in 1979. With a huge selection of lesbian works available, this bookstore is also great because it has tons of flyers for upcoming dyke parties. Check out their in store events as well.

City Lights Bookstore

One of the truly amazing independent bookstores in the country. Beatniks brought this place to fame in the late ‘50s and ‘60s, and it still remains a mainstay for all those looking for the best of alternative writing. Great LGBT section.
