Bay Area Bisexual Network
"Our mission is to develop a healthy, vibrant, multicultural bisexual community in the San Francisco Bay Area and to promote better understanding of bisexual lives and issues within the larger LGBTQ community and the public." The group organizes a number of events throughout the year.
Dykes on Bikes
This is the group that started it all, with a bunch of women bikers participating in San Francisco’s Pride march in 1976. When they tried to trademark the Dykes on Bikes name in 2005, they were initially prevented from doing so because the word “dyke” was considered inappropriate. These gals eventually won their fight, and kudos to them for taking on the man and winning!
Francophone Dykes
If you find the Cercle des Amis Francophones has too many boys for you, this girl group for French-speaking lesbians is your better bet.
Girls Love Fun
Social group for all bent girls, with a special welcome to those who consider themselves a bit on the femmey side.
Jewish Community Federation LGBT Alliance
Affiliated with the San Francisco Jewish Community Centre, this very active LGBT group hosts several events throughout the year.
LGBT Rainbow Toastmasters
As part of Toastmasters International, this group is designed to help LGBT people improve their speaking and leadership skills. No need to RSVP, just show up. Visitors are especially welcome but never required to speak, and may simply just observe the club.
Queer Vegetarian Society of San Francisco
If you’re of the meat-free denomination, these guys and gals are for you. Regular pot lucks, dinners out and parties.
ScrewUp (every 2nd Friday of the month)
"The BDSM workshop and discussion space for trans, genderfucks, intersex, gender deviants, queers, genderqueers and their play pals." Check their website for locations and event info.
The Exiles
“An educational group for women who have a positive personal interest in BDSM between women. The group provides events where women with all levels of experience will have a safe place to meet, explore and share information about safety, play techniques and resources, and connect with the leather community locally and nationally.”
