Different Spokes for different folks, this is San Fran’s LGBT cycling club. They have regular rides on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays with newcomers always welcome.
Fog Rugby
"The San Francisco Fog R.F.C. is a club committed to an ethic of inclusion. The vision of the club is to be the preeminent rugby club in the world that actively pursues the participation of people of color, gay men, women, and other groups traditionally under-represented in rugby." Every few months or so, the women of Fog Rugby participate in a friendly jello-wrestling match!
Frontrunners
This is the founding chapter of Frontrunners, a world-wide network of running clubs for the LGBT community. They meet up twice weekly on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Newcomers are always welcome, just check out the website for location details.
Gay and Lesbian Sierrans
LGBT outings and conservation organization. Enjoy regular hikes, backpacking and camping.
Golden West Women Flyfishers
"On the second Tuesday of every month (except July and August), we meet to exchange fishing stories and ideas, and to learn from one another and experts who are invited to do programs and spend a very social and congenial evening. We have fishing outings, several a month during the fishing season. "
Kundalini Yoga
Weekly yoga sessions every Thursday at the LGBT Community Centre. All are welcome, no membership required. Sliding scale entry fee from $0-$10.

LGBT diving group that organizes regular local and out-of-town dives. Newcomers welcome.
SAGA North
Admittedly, when you think of San Francisco, skiing and snowboarding isn't likely the first thing to come to mind. That said, this gay and lesbian ski club is a hit with the Bay Area girls. The group organizes regular trips to Tahoe and other resorts not too far away as well as summer fun like hiking and water skiing.
San Francisco Gay Softball League
In this case, gay means both gay men and lesbians. The SFGLS has a total of 15 women’s teams in its recreational and competitive women’s leagues. Of course you won’t be able to play ball with them, but if you’re looking to play spot the dyke, the bleachers are the answer to your prayers.
San Francisco Hiking Club
LGBT Hiking Club that organizes at least one local hike every Saturday or Sunday. Visitors are welcome.
San Francisco Tsunami
This Master’s LGBT swimming organization practices five days a week and it’s not limited to basic swimming strokes and technique. They also practice water polo and synchronised swimming. Visitors from other LGBT recognized swim clubs are welcome to join in on practices, but you must show your membership card.
SF Gay and Lesbian Tennis Federation
Even though visitors can’t drop in for their regular weekly games, the gang over at the Federation will absolutely help you find female opponents and courts to play on. Just contact their women’s representative at the email address below. If you can let her know a bit ahead of time it will be easier for her to accommodate your request.
Team San Francisco
San Francisco’s umbrella LGBT sports network. They’ve got the 411 on most queer sports teams in the city, from badminton to cheerleading to women’s flag football
Women’s Mountain Bike & Tea Society
For all the gals who love a two-wheel, non-motorised adventure. Regular rides and clinics offered by founder Jacquie Phelan. If needed, Jacquie can help you rent a bike, but it must be organized in advance.
