Långholmen beach

Långholmen is a small island just outside Södermalm, and it’s here where you’ll find the nicest mixed beach, which is visited by gays, lesbians, straights and everybody in between.  There are a few beaches on this island, but the one you’re looking for is on the west side of the island and you’ll see all the gays hanging out on the hill.  This isn’t the kind of beach you’ll find in Miami or Sydney, but rather the kind of beach you’d find next to a lake in Ontario, Canada.  All the same, it’s a great spot for a dip, especially during the long sunny days of the summer months.

Exit from Hornstull t-bana station.  Walk out on Längsholmsgatan (which becomes Västerbron).  Follow the street until you hit a stairwell down from the bridge down into the forest.  Follow that down into the forest.  Keep walking along the little road, staying as close to the water as possible.  You’ll soon hit the beach.
