Cherrie
Wow, Australia now has two amazing free national monthlies for lesbians! Cherrie is brand new on the scene, having launched in September, 2007, with the long-established LOTL (see below) also available. Cherrie's got it all, lesbian articles, listings, helpful adverts and even better, you can download the entire issue online before visiting Australia.
LOTL
Pronounced “lottle” as in “bottle”, LOTL is Australia’s main lesbian magazine. This is a slick, monthly glossy with all the listings you could need and interesting articles to boot. Definitely worth picking a copy, and even better, it’s free! Their website is also a great reference to check out before you visit.
Slit Magazine
“Fiction, photography, art, poetry, video, music, performer profiles, politics, media activist stories, adventures, illustrations. We made this mag because we are smutty dirty grrls who like to talk about sex, read about it, see it, feel it, pretend it, dream it...” Glossy dyke mag published twice yearly.
SX
Free weekly arts and culture mag aimed that the LGBT community, but much more boy info than girl.
Sydney Star Observer
Free weekly gayper based out of Sydney, but distributed across all of Australia. While they may not have much along the lines of club listings online, they do have a ton of info about groups, associations and events.
