Volunteer-run LGBT phone line open daily from 5:30-10:30 p.m. There is also a separate lesbian only line at a different number on Mondays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The line offers information and referral services.

Guide to Gay Sydney
The word to remember here is « gay » and not lesbian, or even LGBT. Despite this obvious weakness, the site does have some good general scene information that’s helpful for all queers.
NewQ (Newtown Queer Space)
"A space for queers of all colours, genders, flavours and varieties and their friends, to get together in order to organise, have fun and form deeper and stronger bonds of community and resistance with each other. It’s an open space for all of us to experiment with a more inclusive and non-violent future." This new, alternative, queer community space/centre hosts a number of different events throughout the year.

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association
The main LGBT business networking organization in Sydney. They hold a number of regular events throughout the month, including networking breakfasts and Lemons With a Twist, an after-work cocktail event. Sadly, their website doesn’t have too much to offer in regards to letting people know about LGBT establishments.
Sydney Pride Centre
Local LGBT community centre, home to a number of groups and associations. Support, information and referrals also available. As of summer, 2007, the Centre’s future was looking a bit grim though. There are questions as to whether or not the Centre will continue to operate, but for now it’s still open (but only in the evenings and on Saturdays).

Sydney Queer Girls
This amazing new resource has the skinny on everything lesbian in Sydney. Easily navigated with special sections for weekly parties, monthly parties, upcoming events, sporting groups, social groups and more, this is a great way to learn from locals about the Sydney lesbian scene.
