Glad Day Bookshop

Toronto’s main LGBT bookstore is a real gem when you get there, just make sure you don’t walk past it by mistake.  Anonymously located on the second floor of a strip of shops on Toronto’s main street, Glad Day is easy to miss, so keep a look out for the street address.  Once you make it upstairs, this charming little store is pretty much divided into lesbian works on one side, gay male the other.  The great, helpful staff are always ready to answer questions.

This Ain't The Rosedale Library — Updated

Ranked the best independent bookstore in Canada and #8 in the world by the Guardian newspaper, This Ain't The Rosedale Library is a book lovers’ paradise. It used to be one of my very favorite spots to visit in Toronto's gay village where it was located for more than two decades, but sadly enough, in June, 2008, the store moved to the Kensington Market area.  In their old locale they had great titles, helpful staff and an excellent LGBT section.... let's hope that doesn't change too.
