| Divers/Cité |
Jul 24 - Aug 1, 2010 |
Montreal, Canada |
Pride |
For many, many years this used to be Montreal's Pride celebration, but in 2007 they decided they wanted to switch things up a bit and become exclusively a queer music and cultural festival (a new pride formed and now takes place two weeks later - see below). One do not miss Divers/Cité event is Lesbomonde, the biggest dyke party of the year in Montreal. But buy tickets early as it’s often sold out or you’re stuck waiting forever in line as you watch all the cute girls who planned ahead just saunter right in.

| Pride in Brighton & Hove |
Late Jul, 2010 (TBA) |
Brighton, UK |
Pride |
Brighton is only an hour away from London, but it is two completely different worlds. Brighton is a totally charming seaside town that is a total queer getaway. So much so that it's affectionately dubbed "Soho by the sea" in reference to London's gay village, Soho. Brighton Pride hosts tons of events over their Pride week and more than 100,000 spectators are on hand for their Parade. As Brighton is a smaller town, this is a huge influx of people and finding lodging can be a big tough. To alleviate the situation, the city offers free camping facilities at East Brighton Park.

| Gaze: the Dublin Lesbian and Gay Film Festival |
Late Jul, 2010 (TBA) |
Dublin, Ireland |
Film |
The festival was completely re-designed, re-branded and re-launched in 2007, and changed its name from "Look Out!" to "Gaze". This move was made to really create a stronger festival that will continue long into the future. One of the other aims of Gaze is to foster new Irish filmmakers in the gay sector. Right now about 3500 people check out the festival, but organisers hope it will continue to grow and they have future plans to travel some of the films to regional cities and towns outside of Dublin.

| Circuit Festival |
Early Aug, 2010 (TBA) |
Barcelona, Spain |
S/C |
This party used to be associated with the LoveBall, the biggest European queer clubbing event of the year. In 2008 there was a name change, but other than that it's still all about the partying. The Circuit Festival is a full week of events for both men and women, but what’s great about this celebration is that they completely take care of the ladies, with five different lesbian parties, Wednesday through Sunday. Seeing as this is Spain, you’re a total loser if you show up before 1a.m. though, so remember, disco naps are a must! If by any chance you’re actually awake in the daytime, they also have a number of other events like a LGBT water park day, films, theatre, dance performances and much more.
