LLGFF was founded back in 1986 and is now the third largest film festival in the U.K.! What I appreciate even more is that this is a touring festival, with each year’s program visiting about forty towns and cities… meaning that even small town queers get to see the latest LGBT flicks. The London leg of the festival takes place in March, with the touring continuing from May through September.

This annual film festival usually takes place in the month of April, and has become on of the premiere Asian women’s film festivals. Over the years they’ve welcomed a number of big name women and lesbian directors including Lea Poole and Patricia Rozema and in 2007 a movie about teenage lesbians won a big prize and a film about M2F transgenders was also presented. There are always a number of English-language entries or films with English subtitles. Their website also has a great English section.
