“The largest gay and lesbian alpine event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Each year they welcome gay guys and girls from all over the world to this beautiful part of New Zealand for a week long festival of on and off mountain activities from downhill ski races for the adrenalin junkies, or social opportunities like nightly apres ski catch ups, group dinners.”  Right now there's waaay more men than women, but organizers tell me they're trying to get more girls to participate.

International German Gay and Lesbian Golf Championship Early Oct, 2010 (TBA) Schwerin, Germany Sports
“The handicap-effective Stableford tournament will be played over two rounds of 18 holes according to the rules of golf as approved by Royal Ancient Golf Club St. Andrews. There will be separate categories for women and for men. These categories are split up into three different classes. To recognize your achievement, we will award medals for the first, second and third palce in each category and class.”

This is the big annual tennis championship for the Los Angeles Tennis Association, the largest gay and lesbian tennis association in the world. Each year this event attracts up to 250 players from across North America.

Goldelsen Cup Mid-Nov, 2010 (TBA) Berlin, Germany Sports
The Goldelsen Cup is named for the bronze sculpture of victory that overlooks Berlin.  An international volleyball competition, Goldelsen is co-organized with Seitenwechsel, the local lesbian sporting club, which means there's a strong female presence here.

Coupe de Montréal Mid-Nov, 2010 (TBA) Montreal, Canada Sports
Annual swim/water polo/synchronised swimming/diving competition that attracts upwards of 300 participants from about 15 cities across North America. The competition is open to all however and some Europeans participate from year to year. The event is always held during American Thanksgiving.
